Help! Pictures now squished instead of cropped?
Before this week I was listing things with non-square photos and the images were cropping to be square… but now everything is squished down into the square shape and all my images are showing up distorted! Do I have to list totally square images now to stop this happening??? |

I’ve just looked at you shop and the pics look ok to me. |

The most recent 3 items in my shop are definitely distorted :( The shape is wrong because a rectangular picture has been squished into a square and the picture quality is consequently lower. I know it’s not just my computer because I checked on the PC at work too: still the same problem :( What’s weird is that I’ve just sold something which had 3 distorted pics when in my shop but now it’s sold it’s showing 5 pictures, some squished and some not! When I go to relist it though just the 3 pictures show up. |
Interestingly I just relisted it and all the distortion has vanished and the nice cropped pictures are back again (hurrah!) All I need now is to sell the other distorted ones and everything will be fine :P |

You can always just edit it – delete the pictures and re-upload them again, that might sort it out. |

I tried that but it doesn’t work – the newly uploaded ones come out just the same and even one time I tried it didn’t show up at all (I got that “awaiting image” thing). Is anyone else having this problem whilst uploading non square images? |

I’ve just tried to look at your teapot lupin and the pics aren’t loading at all for me, I’ve sat watching “3 items remaining” for plenty long enough :-( |
naturally, when I went back for another go, it worked. |

They were taking an absolute age to load, weren’t they? Even the tiny thumbnails take an age. I have tried again with the re-uploading of pictures and it seems to work eventually. Sometimes the distortion shows up again. Sometimes nothing, just that “thumb” text and sometimes (hurrah!) the proper picture goes in. Bit of a waste of time but at least it’s sorted it in the end. |
it took me three attempts to get something listed today :-( |

Hi, Sorry for the problems early last week – we’re getting more popular which tends to slow things down. I’ve added some more capacity to the service and everything should be performing fine again. Thanks, Rob |
